#108: Lechem Mishneh (Part 1)
- An additional facet of the mitzvah to eat bread at the Shabbat meals is "lechem mishneh", reciting Hamotzi over two whole challot or loaves of bread (Shulchan Aruch 274:1). The reason given for lechem mishneh is to commemorate the manna in the desert, which fell in a double portion on Friday, for Shabbat.
