Parshas Vayikra - Shishi
(כז) וְאִם־נֶ֧פֶשׁ אַחַ֛ת תֶּחֱטָ֥א בִשְׁגָגָ֖ה מֵעַ֣ם הָאָ֑רֶץ בַּ֠עֲשֹׂתָ֠הּ אַחַ֨ת מִמִּצְוֺ֧ת יְהֹוָ֛ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־תֵעָשֶׂ֖ינָה וְאָשֵֽׁם׃ (כח) א֚וֹ הוֹדַ֣ע אֵלָ֔יו חַטָּאת֖וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָטָ֑א וְהֵבִ֨יא קׇרְבָּנ֜וֹ שְׂעִירַ֤ת עִזִּים֙ תְּמִימָ֣ה נְקֵבָ֔ה עַל־חַטָּאת֖וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָטָֽא׃ (כט) וְסָמַךְ֙ אֶת־יָד֔וֹ עַ֖ל רֹ֣אשׁ הַֽחַטָּ֑את וְשָׁחַט֙ אֶת־הַ֣חַטָּ֔את בִּמְק֖וֹם הָעֹלָֽה׃ (ל) וְלָקַ֨ח הַכֹּהֵ֤ן מִדָּמָהּ֙ בְּאֶצְבָּע֔וֹ וְנָתַ֕ן עַל־קַרְנֹ֖ת מִזְבַּ֣ח הָעֹלָ֑ה וְאֶת־כׇּל־דָּמָ֣הּ יִשְׁפֹּ֔ךְ אֶל־יְס֖וֹד הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ (לא) וְאֶת־כׇּל־חֶלְבָּ֣הּ יָסִ֗יר כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר הוּסַ֣ר חֵ֘לֶב֮ מֵעַ֣ל זֶ֣בַח הַשְּׁלָמִים֒ וְהִקְטִ֤יר הַכֹּהֵן֙ הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חָה לְרֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹ֖חַ לַיהֹוָ֑ה וְכִפֶּ֥ר עָלָ֛יו הַכֹּהֵ֖ן וְנִסְלַ֥ח לֽוֹ׃ {פ}
(כז) וְאִם אֱנַשׁ חַד יֵחוֹב בְּשָׁלוּ מֵעַמָּא דְאַרְעָא בְּמֶעְבְּדַהּ חַד מִפִּקּוּדַיָּא דַיְיָ דִּי לָא כַשְׁרִין לְאִתְעֲבָדָא וְיֵחוֹב: (כח) אוֹ אִתְיְדַע לֵיהּ חוֹבְתֵיהּ דִּי חָב וְיַיְתִי קֻרְבָּנֵיהּ צְפִירַת עִזִּין שְׁלֶמְתָּא נְקוּבְתָּא עַל חוֹבְתֵיהּ דִּי חָב: (כט) וְיִסְמוֹךְ יָת יְדֵיהּ עַל רֵישׁ חַטָּאתָא וְיִכּוֹס יָת חַטָּאתָא בַּאֲתַר דַּעֲלָתָא: (ל) וְיִסַּב כַּהֲנָא מִדְמַהּ בְּאֶצְבְּעֵיהּ וְיִתֵּן עַל קַרְנַת מַדְבְּחָא דַעֲלָתָא וְיָת כָּל דְּמַהּ יֵשׁוֹד לִיסוֹדָא דְּמַדְבְּחָא: (לא) וְיָת כָּל תַּרְבַּהּ יֶעְדֵּי כְּמָא דִי מִתַּעְדָּא תְרַב מֵעַל נִכְסַת קוּדְשַׁיָּא וְיַסֵּק כַּהֲנָא לְמַדְבְּחָא לְאִתְקַבָּלָא בְרַעֲוָא קֳדָם יְיָ וִיכַפֵּר עֲלוֹהִי כַּהֲנָא וְיִשְׁתְּבֵק לֵיהּ:
27. If one person from among the people of the land sins inadvertently by doing one of the commandments of Hashem that are not appropriate to do and he incurs guilt, 28. or his sin through which he sinned becomes known to him, he shall bring his offering – an unblemished female goat for his sin that he sinned. 29. He shall lay his hand on the sin offering’s head and slaughter the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering. 30. The priest shall take of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the burnt offering altar, and all its blood he shall pour on the base of the altar. 31. He shall remove all its fat like the fat is removed from upon the holiness sacrifice. The priest shall smoke it on the altar to be accepted with favor before Hashem. The priest will atone for him and he will be exempted.
(לב) וְאִם־כֶּ֛בֶשׂ יָבִ֥יא קׇרְבָּנ֖וֹ לְחַטָּ֑את נְקֵבָ֥ה תְמִימָ֖ה יְבִיאֶֽנָּה׃ (לג) וְסָמַךְ֙ אֶת־יָד֔וֹ עַ֖ל רֹ֣אשׁ הַֽחַטָּ֑את וְשָׁחַ֤ט אֹתָהּ֙ לְחַטָּ֔את בִּמְק֕וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִשְׁחַ֖ט אֶת־הָעֹלָֽה׃ (לד) וְלָקַ֨ח הַכֹּהֵ֜ן מִדַּ֤ם הַֽחַטָּאת֙ בְּאֶצְבָּע֔וֹ וְנָתַ֕ן עַל־קַרְנֹ֖ת מִזְבַּ֣ח הָעֹלָ֑ה וְאֶת־כׇּל־דָּמָ֣הּ יִשְׁפֹּ֔ךְ אֶל־יְס֖וֹד הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ (לה) וְאֶת־כׇּל־חֶלְבָּ֣הּ יָסִ֗יר כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר יוּסַ֥ר חֵֽלֶב־הַכֶּ֘שֶׂב֮ מִזֶּ֣בַח הַשְּׁלָמִים֒ וְהִקְטִ֨יר הַכֹּהֵ֤ן אֹתָם֙ הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חָה עַ֖ל אִשֵּׁ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וְכִפֶּ֨ר עָלָ֧יו הַכֹּהֵ֛ן עַל־חַטָּאת֥וֹ אֲשֶׁר־חָטָ֖א וְנִסְלַ֥ח לֽוֹ׃ {פ}
(לב) וְאִם אִימַר יַיְתִי קֻרְבָּנֵיהּ לְחַטָּאתָא נֻקְבָּא שְׁלֶמְתָּא יַיְתִנַּהּ: (לג) וְיִסְמוֹךְ יָת יְדֵיהּ עַל רֵישׁ חַטָּאתָא וְיִכּוֹס יָתַהּ לְחַטָּאתָא בְּאַתְרָא דִּי יִכּוֹס יָת עֲלָתָא: (לד) וְיִסַּב כַּהֲנָא מִדְּמָא דְחַטָּאתָא בְּאֶצְבְּעֵיהּ וְיִתֵּן עַל קַרְנַת מַדְבְּחָא דַעֲלָתָא וְיָת כָּל דְּמַהּ יֵשׁוֹד לִיסוֹדָא דְּמַדְבְּחָא: (לה) וְיָת כָּל תַּרְבַּהּ יֶעְדֵּי כְּמָא דִי מִתַּעְדָּא תְרַב אִמְּרָא מִנִּכְסַת קוּדְשַׁיָּא וְיַסֵּק כַּהֲנָא יָתְהוֹן לְמַדְבְּחָא עַל קֻרְבְּנַיָּא דַיְיָ וִיכַפֵּר עֲלוֹהִי כַּהֲנָא עַל חוֹבְתֵיהּ דִּי חָב וְיִשְׁתְּבֵק לֵיהּ:
32. If he brings a sheep (for) his offering as a sin offering, an unblemished female he shall bring it. 33. He shall lay his hand on the sin offering’s head and slaughter it as a sin offering in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered. 34. The priest will take from the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the burnt offering altar, and all its blood he shall pour on the base of the altar. 35. And all its fat he shall remove like the fat of the sheep of the holiness sacrifice is removed. The priest will smoke them on the altar, with[1] Hashem’s offerings. The priest will atone for him for his sin that he sinned and he will be exempted.
Chapter 5
(א) וְנֶ֣פֶשׁ כִּֽי־תֶחֱטָ֗א וְשָֽׁמְעָה֙ ק֣וֹל אָלָ֔ה וְה֣וּא עֵ֔ד א֥וֹ רָאָ֖ה א֣וֹ יָדָ֑ע אִם־ל֥וֹא יַגִּ֖יד וְנָשָׂ֥א עֲוֺנֽוֹ׃ (ב) א֣וֹ נֶ֗פֶשׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּגַּע֮ בְּכׇל־דָּבָ֣ר טָמֵא֒ אוֹ֩ בְנִבְלַ֨ת חַיָּ֜ה טְמֵאָ֗ה א֚וֹ בְּנִבְלַת֙ בְּהֵמָ֣ה טְמֵאָ֔ה א֕וֹ בְּנִבְלַ֖ת שֶׁ֣רֶץ טָמֵ֑א וְנֶעְלַ֣ם מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וְה֥וּא טָמֵ֖א וְאָשֵֽׁם׃ (ג) א֣וֹ כִ֤י יִגַּע֙ בְּטֻמְאַ֣ת אָדָ֔ם לְכֹל֙ טֻמְאָת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִטְמָ֖א בָּ֑הּ וְנֶעְלַ֣ם מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וְה֥וּא יָדַ֖ע וְאָשֵֽׁם׃ (ד) א֣וֹ נֶ֡פֶשׁ כִּ֣י תִשָּׁבַע֩ לְבַטֵּ֨א בִשְׂפָתַ֜יִם לְהָרַ֣ע ׀ א֣וֹ לְהֵיטִ֗יב לְ֠כֹ֠ל אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְבַטֵּ֧א הָאָדָ֛ם בִּשְׁבֻעָ֖ה וְנֶעְלַ֣ם מִמֶּ֑נּוּ וְהוּא־יָדַ֥ע וְאָשֵׁ֖ם לְאַחַ֥ת מֵאֵֽלֶּה׃ (ה) וְהָיָ֥ה כִֽי־יֶאְשַׁ֖ם לְאַחַ֣ת מֵאֵ֑לֶּה וְהִ֨תְוַדָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָטָ֖א עָלֶֽיהָ׃ (ו) וְהֵבִ֣יא אֶת־אֲשָׁמ֣וֹ לַיהֹוָ֡ה עַ֣ל חַטָּאתוֹ֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר חָטָ֜א נְקֵבָ֨ה מִן־הַצֹּ֥אן כִּשְׂבָּ֛ה אֽוֹ־שְׂעִירַ֥ת עִזִּ֖ים לְחַטָּ֑את וְכִפֶּ֥ר עָלָ֛יו הַכֹּהֵ֖ן מֵחַטָּאתֽוֹ׃ (ז) וְאִם־לֹ֨א תַגִּ֣יעַ יָדוֹ֮ דֵּ֣י שֶׂה֒ וְהֵבִ֨יא אֶת־אֲשָׁמ֜וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָטָ֗א שְׁתֵּ֥י תֹרִ֛ים אֽוֹ־שְׁנֵ֥י בְנֵֽי־יוֹנָ֖ה לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה אֶחָ֥ד לְחַטָּ֖את וְאֶחָ֥ד לְעֹלָֽה׃ (ח) וְהֵבִ֤יא אֹתָם֙ אֶל־הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְהִקְרִ֛יב אֶת־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לַחַטָּ֖את רִאשׁוֹנָ֑ה וּמָלַ֧ק אֶת־רֹאשׁ֛וֹ מִמּ֥וּל עׇרְפּ֖וֹ וְלֹ֥א יַבְדִּֽיל׃ (ט) וְהִזָּ֞ה מִדַּ֤ם הַחַטָּאת֙ עַל־קִ֣יר הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ וְהַנִּשְׁאָ֣ר בַּדָּ֔ם יִמָּצֵ֖ה אֶל־יְס֣וֹד הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ חַטָּ֖את הֽוּא׃ (י) וְאֶת־הַשֵּׁנִ֛י יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה עֹלָ֖ה כַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט וְכִפֶּ֨ר עָלָ֧יו הַכֹּהֵ֛ן מֵחַטָּאת֥וֹ אֲשֶׁר־חָטָ֖א וְנִסְלַ֥ח לֽוֹ׃ {ס}
(א) וֶאֱנַשׁ אֲרֵי יֵחוֹב וְיִשְׁמַע קַל מוֹמֵי וְהוּא סָהִיד אוֹ חֲזָא אוֹ יְדָע אִם לָא יְחַוִּי וִיקַבֵּל חוֹבֵיהּ: (ב) אוֹ אֱנַשׁ דִּי יִקְרַב בְּכֹל מִדַּעַם מְסָאָב אוֹ בְנִבְלַת חַיְתָא מְסָאָבָא אוֹ בְּנִבְלַת בְּעִירָא מְסָאָבָא אוֹ בְּנִבְלַת רִחֲשָׁא מְסָאָב וִיהֵי מְכַסָּא מִנֵּיהּ וְהוּא מְסָאָב וְחָב: (ג) אוֹ אֲרֵי יִקְרַב בְּסוֹאֲבַת אֱנָשָׁא לְכָל סוֹבְתֵיהּ דִּי יִסְתָּאַב בַּהּ וִיהֵי מְכַסָּא מִנֵּיהּ וְהוּא יָדַע וְחָב: (ד) אוֹ אֱנַשׁ אֲרֵי יְקַיֵּם לְפָרָשָׁא בְסִפְוָן לְאַבְאָשָׁא אוֹ לְאוֹטָבָא לְכֹל דִּי יְפָרֵשׁ אֱנָשָׁא בְּקִיּוּם וִיהֵי מְכַסָּא מִנֵּיהּ וְהוּא יָדַע וְחָב לַחֲדָא מֵאִלֵּין: (ה) וִיהֵי אֲרֵי יֵחוֹב לַחֲדָא מֵאִלֵּין וִיוַדִּי דִּי חָב עֲלַהּ: (ו) וְיַיְתִי יָת אַשְׁמֵיהּ קֳדָם יְיָ עַל חוֹבְתֵיהּ דִּי חָב נְקוּבְתָא מִן עָנָא אִמְּרָתָא אוֹ צְפִירַת עִזִּין לְחַטָאתָא וִיכַפֵּר עֲלוֹהִי כַּהֲנָא מֵחוֹבְתֵיהּ: (ז) וְאִם לָא תִמְטֵי יְדֵיהּ כְּמִסַּת שֵׂיתָא וְיַיְתִי יָת חוֹבְתֵיהּ דִּי חָב תַּרְתֵּין שַׁפְנִינִין אוֹ תְרֵין בְּנֵי יוֹנָה קֳדָם יְיָ חַד לְחַטָּאתָא וְחַד לַעֲלָתָא: (ח) וְיַיְתִי יָתְהוֹן לְוָת כַּהֲנָא וִיקָרֵב יָת דִּי לְחַטָּאתָא קַדְמֵיתָא וְיִמְלוֹק יָת רֵישֵׁיהּ מִלָּקֳבֵל קְדָלֵיהּ וְלָא יַפְרֵשׁ: (ט) וְיַדִּי מִדְּמָא דְחַטָּאתָא עַל כֹּתֶל מַדְבְּחָא וּדְאִשְׁתָּאַר בִּדְמָא יִתִּמְצֵי לִיסוֹדָא דְמַדְבְּחָא חַטָּאתָא הוּא: (י) וְיָת תִּנְיָנָא יַעְבֵּד עֲלָתָא כִּדְחָזֵי וִיכַפֵּר עֲלוֹהִי כַּהֲנָא מֵחוֹבְתֵיהּ דִּי חָב וְיִשְׁתְּבֵק לֵיהּ:
1. If a person sins and hears the voice (imposing) an oath, and he’s a witness either seeing or knowing, if he doesn’t tell and he receives[2] his sin, 2. or a person who touches any unclean thing, either the carcass of an unclean wild animal or the carcass of an unclean domesticated animal or the carcass of an unclean crawling thing, and it[3] is hidden from him, and he is impure and incurs guilt, 3. or if he touches the impurity of a human, for all his impurity through which one is rendered unclean, and it is hidden from him and he becomes aware and incurs guilt, 4. or a person who swears, expressing with his lips to do bad or to do good, for whatever a person expresses in an oath, and it is hidden from him and he becomes aware and incurs guilt in one of these, 5. it shall be when he incurs guilt in one of these, he shall confess that by which he has sinned. 6. He shall bring his guilt offering to Hashem for the sin that he sinned, a female of the flock – a sheep or a goat – as a sin offering. The priest will atone for him from his sin. 7. And if his means do not suffice[4] for a sheep, he shall bring his guilt offering (for) that (which) he sinned two doves or two young pigeons before Hashem – one for a sin offering and one for a burnt offering. 8. He shall bring them to the priest, who will offer the one for the sin offering first, and nip its head near the nape; he shall not separate it. 9. He shall sprinkle from the sin offering’s blood on the wall of the altar and what remains of the blood shall be drained on the base of the altar; it is a sin offering. 10. And the second he shall make a burnt offering appropriately.[5] The priest will atone for him from his sin that he sinned and he will be exempted.
