Chapter 11
(א) וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה וְאֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֖ן לֵאמֹ֥ר אֲלֵהֶֽם׃ (ב) דַּבְּר֛וּ אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר זֹ֤את הַֽחַיָּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תֹּאכְל֔וּ מִכׇּל־הַבְּהֵמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ (ג) כֹּ֣ל ׀ מַפְרֶ֣סֶת פַּרְסָ֗ה וְשֹׁסַ֤עַת שֶׁ֙סַע֙ פְּרָסֹ֔ת מַעֲלַ֥ת גֵּרָ֖ה בַּבְּהֵמָ֑ה אֹתָ֖הּ תֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃ (ד) אַ֤ךְ אֶת־זֶה֙ לֹ֣א תֹֽאכְל֔וּ מִֽמַּעֲלֵי֙ הַגֵּרָ֔ה וּמִמַּפְרִסֵ֖י הַפַּרְסָ֑ה אֶֽת־הַ֠גָּמָ֠ל כִּֽי־מַעֲלֵ֨ה גֵרָ֜ה ה֗וּא וּפַרְסָה֙ אֵינֶ֣נּוּ מַפְרִ֔יס טָמֵ֥א ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃ (ה) וְאֶת־הַשָּׁפָ֗ן כִּֽי־מַעֲלֵ֤ה גֵרָה֙ ה֔וּא וּפַרְסָ֖ה לֹ֣א יַפְרִ֑יס טָמֵ֥א ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃ (ו) וְאֶת־הָאַרְנֶ֗בֶת כִּֽי־מַעֲלַ֤ת גֵּרָה֙ הִ֔וא וּפַרְסָ֖ה לֹ֣א הִפְרִ֑יסָה טְמֵאָ֥ה הִ֖וא לָכֶֽם׃ (ז) וְאֶת־הַ֠חֲזִ֠יר כִּֽי־מַפְרִ֨יס פַּרְסָ֜ה ה֗וּא וְשֹׁסַ֥ע שֶׁ֙סַע֙ פַּרְסָ֔ה וְה֖וּא גֵּרָ֣ה לֹֽא־יִגָּ֑ר טָמֵ֥א ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃ (ח) מִבְּשָׂרָם֙ לֹ֣א תֹאכֵ֔לוּ וּבְנִבְלָתָ֖ם לֹ֣א תִגָּ֑עוּ טְמֵאִ֥ים הֵ֖ם לָכֶֽם׃ (ט) אֶת־זֶה֙ תֹּֽאכְל֔וּ מִכֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּמָּ֑יִם כֹּ֣ל אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ֩ סְנַפִּ֨יר וְקַשְׂקֶ֜שֶׂת בַּמַּ֗יִם בַּיַּמִּ֛ים וּבַנְּחָלִ֖ים אֹתָ֥ם תֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃ (י) וְכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֵֽין־ל֜וֹ סְנַפִּ֣יר וְקַשְׂקֶ֗שֶׂת בַּיַּמִּים֙ וּבַנְּחָלִ֔ים מִכֹּל֙ שֶׁ֣רֶץ הַמַּ֔יִם וּמִכֹּ֛ל נֶ֥פֶשׁ הַחַיָּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּמָּ֑יִם שֶׁ֥קֶץ הֵ֖ם לָכֶֽם׃ (יא) וְשֶׁ֖קֶץ יִהְי֣וּ לָכֶ֑ם מִבְּשָׂרָם֙ לֹ֣א תֹאכֵ֔לוּ וְאֶת־נִבְלָתָ֖ם תְּשַׁקֵּֽצוּ׃ (יב) כֹּ֣ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֵֽין־ל֛וֹ סְנַפִּ֥יר וְקַשְׂקֶ֖שֶׂת בַּמָּ֑יִם שֶׁ֥קֶץ ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃ (יג) וְאֶת־אֵ֙לֶּה֙ תְּשַׁקְּצ֣וּ מִן־הָע֔וֹף לֹ֥א יֵאָכְל֖וּ שֶׁ֣קֶץ הֵ֑ם אֶת־הַנֶּ֙שֶׁר֙ וְאֶת־הַפֶּ֔רֶס וְאֵ֖ת הָעׇזְנִיָּֽה׃ (יד) וְאֶ֨ת־הַדָּאָ֔ה וְאֶת־הָאַיָּ֖ה לְמִינָֽהּ׃ (טו) אֵ֥ת כׇּל־עֹרֵ֖ב לְמִינֽוֹ׃ (טז) וְאֵת֙ בַּ֣ת הַֽיַּעֲנָ֔ה וְאֶת־הַתַּחְמָ֖ס וְאֶת־הַשָּׁ֑חַף וְאֶת־הַנֵּ֖ץ לְמִינֵֽהוּ׃ (יז) וְאֶת־הַכּ֥וֹס וְאֶת־הַשָּׁלָ֖ךְ וְאֶת־הַיַּנְשֽׁוּף׃ (יח) וְאֶת־הַתִּנְשֶׁ֥מֶת וְאֶת־הַקָּאָ֖ת וְאֶת־הָרָחָֽם׃ (יט) וְאֵת֙ הַחֲסִידָ֔ה הָאֲנָפָ֖ה לְמִינָ֑הּ וְאֶת־הַדּוּכִיפַ֖ת וְאֶת־הָעֲטַלֵּֽף׃ (כ) כֹּ֚ל שֶׁ֣רֶץ הָע֔וֹף הַהֹלֵ֖ךְ עַל־אַרְבַּ֑ע שֶׁ֥קֶץ ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃ (כא) אַ֤ךְ אֶת־זֶה֙ תֹּֽאכְל֔וּ מִכֹּל֙ שֶׁ֣רֶץ הָע֔וֹף הַהֹלֵ֖ךְ עַל־אַרְבַּ֑ע אֲשֶׁר־לא [ל֤וֹ] כְרָעַ֙יִם֙ מִמַּ֣עַל לְרַגְלָ֔יו לְנַתֵּ֥ר בָּהֵ֖ן עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ (כב) אֶת־אֵ֤לֶּה מֵהֶם֙ תֹּאכֵ֔לוּ אֶת־הָֽאַרְבֶּ֣ה לְמִינ֔וֹ וְאֶת־הַסׇּלְעָ֖ם לְמִינֵ֑הוּ וְאֶת־הַחַרְגֹּ֣ל לְמִינֵ֔הוּ וְאֶת־הֶחָגָ֖ב לְמִינֵֽהוּ׃ (כג) וְכֹל֙ שֶׁ֣רֶץ הָע֔וֹף אֲשֶׁר־ל֖וֹ אַרְבַּ֣ע רַגְלָ֑יִם שֶׁ֥קֶץ ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃ (כד) וּלְאֵ֖לֶּה תִּטַּמָּ֑אוּ כׇּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בְּנִבְלָתָ֖ם יִטְמָ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃ (כה) וְכׇל־הַנֹּשֵׂ֖א מִנִּבְלָתָ֑ם יְכַבֵּ֥ס בְּגָדָ֖יו וְטָמֵ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃ (כו) לְֽכׇל־הַבְּהֵמָ֡ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִוא֩ מַפְרֶ֨סֶת פַּרְסָ֜ה וְשֶׁ֣סַע ׀ אֵינֶ֣נָּה שֹׁסַ֗עַת וְגֵרָה֙ אֵינֶ֣נָּה מַעֲלָ֔ה טְמֵאִ֥ים הֵ֖ם לָכֶ֑ם כׇּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בָּהֶ֖ם יִטְמָֽא׃ (כז) וְכֹ֣ל ׀ הוֹלֵ֣ךְ עַל־כַּפָּ֗יו בְּכׇל־הַֽחַיָּה֙ הַהֹלֶ֣כֶת עַל־אַרְבַּ֔ע טְמֵאִ֥ים הֵ֖ם לָכֶ֑ם כׇּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בְּנִבְלָתָ֖ם יִטְמָ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃ (כח) וְהַנֹּשֵׂא֙ אֶת־נִבְלָתָ֔ם יְכַבֵּ֥ס בְּגָדָ֖יו וְטָמֵ֣א עַד־הָעָ֑רֶב טְמֵאִ֥ים הֵ֖מָּה לָכֶֽם׃ {ס}
(א) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה וּלְאַהֲרֹן לְמֵימַר לְהוֹן: (ב) מַלִּילוּ עִם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמֵימָר דָּא חַיְתָא דִּי תֵיכְלוּן מִכָּל בְּעִירָא דִּי עַל אַרְעָא: (ג) כָּל דִּי סְדִיקָן פַּרְסָתָא וּמַטִּלְפָן טִלְפִין פַּרְסָתָא מַסְּקָא פִשְׁרָא בִּבְעִירָא יָתַהּ תֵּיכְלוּן: (ד) בְּרַם יָת דֵּין לָא תֵיכְלוּן מִמַּסְּקֵי פִשְׁרָא וּמִמַּסְדִּיקֵי פַּרְסָתָא יָת גַּמְלָא אֲרֵי מַסִּיק פִּשְׁרָא הוּא וּפַרְסָתָא לָא סְדִיקָא מְסָאָב הוּא לְכוֹן: (ה) וְיָת טַפְזָא אֲרֵי מַסִּיק פִּשְׁרָא הוּא וּפַרְסָתָא לָא סְדִיקָא מְסָאָב הוּא לְכוֹן: (ו) וְיָת אַרְנְבָא אֲרֵי מַסְּקָא פִשְׁרָא הִיא וּפַרְסָתָא לָא סְדִיקָא מְסָאָבָא הִיא לְכוֹן: (ז) וְיָת חֲזִירָא אֲרֵי סְדִיק פַּרְסָתָא הוּא וּמַטִּילְפָן טִלְפִין פַּרְסָתֵיהּ וְהוּא פִּשְׁרָא לָא פָשָׁר מְסָאָב הוּא לְכוֹן: (ח) מִבִּסְרְהוֹן לָא תֵיכְלוּן וּבִנְבִלְתְּהוֹן לָא תִקְרְבוּן מְסַאֲבִין אִנּוּן לְכוֹן: (ט) יָת דֵּין תֵּיכְלוּן מִכָּל דִּי בְמַיָּא כֹּל דִּי לֵיהּ צִיצִין וְקַלְפִין בְּמַיָּא בְּיָמְמַיָּא וּבְנַחֲלַיָּא יָתְהוֹן תֵּיכְלוּן: (י) וְכֹל דִּי לֵית לֵיהּ צִיצִין וְקַלְפִין בְּיַמְמַיָּא וּבְנַחֲלַיָּא מִכֹּל רִחֲשָׁא דְמַיָּא וּמִכָּל נַפְשָׁא חַיְתָא דִּי בְמַיָּא שִׁקְצָא אִנּוּן לְכוֹן: (יא) וְשִׁקְצָא יְהוֹן לְכוֹן מִבִּסְרְהוֹן לָא תֵיכְלוּן וְיָת נְבִלְתְּהוֹן תְּשַׁקְּצוּן: (יב) כֹּל דִּי לֵית לֵיהּ צִיצִין וְקַלְפִין בְּמַיָּא שִׁקְצָא הוּא לְכוֹן: (יג) וְיָת אִלֵּין תַּשַׁקְּצוּן מִן עוֹפָא לָא יִתְאַכְלוּן שִׁקְצָא אִנּוּן נִשְׁרָא וְעַר וְעַזְיָא: (יד) וְדַיְתָא וְטָרָפִיתָא לִזְנַהּ: (טו) יָת כָּל עוּרְבָא לִזְנֵיהּ: (טז) וְיָת בַּת נַעֲמִיתָא וְצִיצָא וְצִפַּר שַׁחְפָּא וְנָצָא לִזְנוֹהִי: (יז) וְקַרְיָא וְשָׁלֵינוּנָא וְקִפּוֹפָא: (יח) וּבַוְתָא וְקָאתָא וִירַקְרֵקָא: (יט) וְחַוָּרִיתָא וְאִבּוּ לִזְנַהּ וְנַגַּר טוּרָא וַעֲטַלֵּפָא: (כ) כֹּל רִחֲשָׁא דְעוֹפָא דִּמְהַלֵּךְ עַל אַרְבַּע שִׁקְצָא הוּא לְכוֹן: (כא) בְּרַם יָת דֵּין תֵּיכְלוּן מִכֹּל רִחֲשָׁא דְעוֹפָא דִּמְהַלֵּךְ עַל אַרְבַּע דִּי לֵיהּ קַרְצוּלִין מֵעִלָּוֵי רַגְלוֹהִי לְקַפָּצָא בְהוֹן עַל אַרְעָא: (כב) יָת אִלֵּין מִנְּהוֹן תֵּיכְלוּן יָת גּוֹבָא לִזְנַהּ וְיָת רָשׁוּנָא לִזְנוֹהִי וְיָת חַרְגּוֹלָא לִזְנוֹהִי וְיָת חֲגָבָא לִזְנוֹהִי: (כג) וְכֹל רִחֲשָׁא דְעוֹפָא דִּי לֵיהּ אַרְבַּע רַגְלִין שִׁקְצָא הוּא לְכוֹן: (כד) וּלְאִלֵּין תִּסְתָּאָבוּן כָּל דְּיִקְרַב בִּנְבִלְתְּהוֹן יְהֵי מְסָאָב עַד רַמְשָׁא: (כה) וְכָל דְּיִטוֹל מִנְּבִלְתְּהוֹן יְצַבַּע לְבוּשׁוֹהִי וִיהֵי מְסָאָב עַד רַמְשָׁא: (כו) לְכָל בְּעִירָא דִּי הִיא סְדִיקָא פַרְסָתָא וְטִלְפִין לֵיתָהָא מַטִּלְפָא וּפִשְׁרָא לֵיתָהָא מַסְּקָא מְסַאֲבִין אִנּוּן לְכוֹן כָּל דְּיִקְרַב בְּהוֹן יְהֵי מְסָאָב: (כז) וְכֹל דִּמְהַלֵּךְ עַל יְדוֹהִי בְּכָל חַיְתָא דִּמְהַלְכָא עַל אַרְבַּע מְסַאֲבִין אִנּוּן לְכוֹן כָּל דְּיִקְרַב בִּנְבִלְתְּהוֹן יְהֵי מְסָאָב עַד רַמְשָׁא: (כח) וּדְיִטּוֹל יָת נְבִלְתְּהוֹן יְצַבַּע לְבוּשׁוֹהִי וִיהֵי מְסָאָב עַד רַמְשָׁא מְסַאֲבִין אִנּוּן לְכוֹן:
1. Hashem spoke with Moshe and with Aharon, saying to them: 2. Speak with the children of Israel, saying: These are the animals that you may eat from all the beasts on the land: 3. everything that has cloven hooves and completely split hooves that brings up cud – among animals, it you may eat. 4. But this you may not eat of those that bring up cud and of those with split hooves: the camel because it brings up cud and its hooves are not split; it is unclean to you. 5. The hyrax, because it brings up cud and its hooves are not split; it is unclean to you. 6. The hare, because it brings up cud and its hooves are not split; it is unclean to you. 7. And the pig, because it has cloven hooves, its hooves are completely split, and it doesn’t bring up cud; it is unclean to you 8. Do not eat of their flesh and do not touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you. 9. This you may eat of all that is in the water: everything in the water that has fins and scales, in the seas and in the streams – them you may eat. 10. And everything that doesn’t have fins and scales in the seas and in the streams, of all the swarming things of the water and of all the living creatures that are in the water, they are detestable to you 11. and detestable they shall be to you. Of their flesh you shall not eat and their carcasses you shall detest. 12. Everything that doesn’t have fins and scales in the water is detestable to you. 13. These you shall detest from the birds;[1] they may not be eaten, they are detestable: the eagle, and the vulture, and the osprey, 14. and the kite, and the falcon according to its species, 15. the raven according to its species, 16. and the ostrich, and the nighthawk, and the sea gull;[2] and the hawk according to its species, 17. and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl, 18. and the horned owl, and the pelican, and the bustard, 19. and the stork, the heron according to its species, and the hoopoe, and the bat. 20. All winged swarming things[3] that walk on four (legs) are detestable to you. 21. But this you may eat from all the winged swarming things that walk on four (legs): those that have (jointed) legs above their feet with which to leap on the earth. 22. These of them you may eat:[4] the locusts according to its species, and the bald locusts according to their species, and the cricket according to their species, and the grasshopper according to their species. 23. And all (other) winged swarming things that have four legs are detestable to you. 24. And to these you will be rendered unclean – all who touch their carcasses will be unclean until evening 25. and all who carry of their carcasses will immerse[5] his clothes and be unclean until evening. 26. To every animal that has cloven hoofs that are not completely split and that doesn’t bring up cud, they are unclean to you; all who touch them will be unclean. 27. And all that walks on its paws among all animals that walk on four (feet), they are unclean to you; all who touch their carcasses shall be unclean until evening. 28. And the one who carries their carcasses shall immerse his clothes and be unclean until evening. They are unclean to you.
(כט) וְזֶ֤ה לָכֶם֙ הַטָּמֵ֔א בַּשֶּׁ֖רֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵ֣ץ עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ הַחֹ֥לֶד וְהָעַכְבָּ֖ר וְהַצָּ֥ב לְמִינֵֽהוּ׃ (ל) וְהָאֲנָקָ֥ה וְהַכֹּ֖חַ וְהַלְּטָאָ֑ה וְהַחֹ֖מֶט וְהַתִּנְשָֽׁמֶת׃ (לא) אֵ֛לֶּה הַטְּמֵאִ֥ים לָכֶ֖ם בְּכׇל־הַשָּׁ֑רֶץ כׇּל־הַנֹּגֵ֧עַ בָּהֶ֛ם בְּמֹתָ֖ם יִטְמָ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃ (לב) וְכֹ֣ל אֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּל־עָלָיו֩ מֵהֶ֨ם ׀ בְּמֹתָ֜ם יִטְמָ֗א מִכׇּל־כְּלִי־עֵץ֙ א֣וֹ בֶ֤גֶד אוֹ־עוֹר֙ א֣וֹ שָׂ֔ק כׇּל־כְּלִ֕י אֲשֶׁר־יֵעָשֶׂ֥ה מְלָאכָ֖ה בָּהֶ֑ם בַּמַּ֧יִם יוּבָ֛א וְטָמֵ֥א עַד־הָעֶ֖רֶב וְטָהֵֽר׃
(כט) וְדֵין לְכוֹן מְסָאָבָא בְּרִחֲשָׁא דְּרָחֵשׁ עַל אַרְעָא חֻלְדָא וְעַכְבָּרָא וְצָבָא לִזְנוֹהִי: (ל) וְיָלָא וְכֹחָא וְחֻלְטֵיתָא וְחֻמְטָא וְאָשׁוּתָא: (לא) אִלֵּין דִּמְסַאֲבִין לְכוֹן בְּכָל רִחֲשָׁא כָּל דְּיִקְרַב בְּהוֹן בְּמוֹתְהוֹן יְהֵי מְסָאָב עַד רַמְשָׁא: (לב) וְכֹל דִּי יִפֵּל עֲלוֹהִי מִנְּהוֹן בְּמוֹתְהוֹן יְהֵי מְסָאָב מִכָּל מָאן דְּאָעָא אוֹ לְבוּשׁ אוֹ מְשַׁךְ אוֹ שָׂק כָּל מָאן דִּי תִתְעֲבֵד עִבִידָא בְּהוֹן בְּמַיָּא יִתָּעַל וִיהֵי מְסָאָב עַד רַמְשָׁא וְיִדְכֵּי:
29. This is unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm on the earth:[6] the weasel, the mouse, and the toad according to their species, 30. and the hedgehog, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail and the mole. 31. These are the unclean to you among all the swarming things; all who touch them when they are dead[7] shall be unclean until evening. 32. And everything that falls on it when dead will be unclean. Of every wooden utensil, or a garment, or a skin, or a sack – every utensil with which work can be performed shall be brought into water, and it will be unclean until evening, and (then) it will be clean.
