Nedarim 10:4-5

Nedarim 10:4

The practice of scholars is that before their daughters leave their homes, they say, “All vows that you took in my house are canceled.” Similarly, a husband, before she enters his domain, says “All vows that you took before entering my domain are canceled.” This is because after she enters his domain, he cannot cancel her preexisting vows.

Nedarim 10:5

Rabbi Eliezer says that since a man is obligated to support a girl who has reached maturity and waited 12 months since being betrothed without being married, and a widow who waited 30 days after betrothal without being married, he also assumes vow-canceling authority. The Sages say that he does not assume the ability to cancel vows until the woman enters his domain.
