4,001. Overriding Shabbos and Ritual Impurity

Sacrifices that don’t have designated times do not override the laws of Shabbos or of impurity. This is because if such a sacrifice isn’t offered today, it can be brought tomorrow or later. Offerings that have designated times do override the laws of Shabbos and impurity, regardless of whether they are communal or private offerings. But they don’t override all types of impurity; they only override corpse impurity.
