Succah 3:7

Rabbi Meir says that the smallest size of a valid esrog is that of a nut; Rabbi Yehuda says the size of an egg. Rabbi Yehuda says the maximum size is so that one could hold two in one hand, while Rabbi Yosi says it is valid even if it takes two hands to hold one esrog.

Succah 3:8

The lulav may only be tied with one of the same species (palm, willow or myrtle); Rabbi Meir says it may even be tied with string. He supported this position by recounting how the people of Jerusalem used to ties their lulavim with gold threads. The Sages responded that these lulavim were wrapped with gold threads as a decoration over valid bindings made of the appropriate species.
