Beitza 4:2-3
Beitzah 4:2
One may not take wood from a booth (which would constitute the labor of demolishing), he may only take wood that is near the booth. One may bring wood from the field if it was already gathered and from a karpeif (an enclosed area) even if it is scattered. Rabbi Yehuda says that the definition of a karpeif is that it is close to the city; Rabbi Yosi says that it must require a key to open and it need not be close to the city per se, just within the Sabbath boundary (techum).
Beitzah 4:3
One may not chop up a beam for firewood on yom tov, even if the beam broke on yom tov. One may not cut wood using a professional implement like an axe or a saw, only with a chopping knife. If a house full of produce was sealed shut and it broke open on yom tov, one may take fruit from the breach. Rabbi Meir says that one may even actively make a breach in order to access the produce.
